Developmental Parent and Me Classes
Have you been looking for the instruction book on raising kids? Look no further, Bright
Beginnings is here. Bright Beginnings classes are Developmental Parent and Me classes
specically designed to help children develop according to developmental milestones,
while empowering parents and teaching them skills they’ll need to be the best parents
they can be.
One ten-week session flows into the other. If you have a 0-6 month old, you might want
to take 2 sessions there then move on the 6-12 month old class.
Classes are taught by professionals from the fields of Child Development, Speech and
Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy. The class structure is based on the
Beautiful Beginnings curriculum used by Early Head Start.
Classes are broken into 10-week sessions for:
0-6 month, Babies
6-12 month, Creepers
12-18 month, Beginning walkers
18-24 month, Walker
24-30 month, Walkers II
30-36 month, Runners
Current class sessions are:
Session I: September 14th – November 19th 2010
Session II: November 25th-February 18th 2011 (three week holiday break)
Session III: February 12-April 15th 2011
Each session will have classes for all 6 age groups.

Is He a Normal Child or Does He Have ADHD?
If you have a child you think may have ADHD, this is the seminar for you. Three to 5 percent of children globally are diagnosed with ADHD before the age of 7. Come learn the criteria and symptoms used to diagnose this disorder, as well as who can and can’t diagnose it By learning the criteria, you as a parent will know whether or not to go to the next step of diagnosis. You will learn about the different types of ADHD and the management of each type, including behavior modifications, lifestyle change, counseling and possibly medication. You will also learn about the educational rights of childfren with ADHD, including the Individualized Education Plans IEP vs 504 plans. Learn about accommodations and modifications that can be made in the home to make it a happier place for everyone. These can also be made in the classroom to assist children with their attention and activity levels so that they get the most out of their education.
